This skills and issues based course is particularly suited to anyone who wants to properly understand the environmental and economic challenges facing the world in the twenty-first century. We will study the management of physical and human environments, consider contemporary global issues in depth and develop the enquiry skills of analysis, interpretation and evaluation.
Special Features
All AS Geographers spend a week away in the Lake District on a residential fieldwork course.
Entry
You will need at least 5 A*-C GCSEs.
Attendance
One year to AS plus one further year to complete the full A Level.
Assessment
This is through written examinations, but also draws upon a compulsory piece of personal fieldwork.
Moving on
If you go on to take a Geography degree at university, a wide range of specialist careers including Tourism, Conservation and Environmental Monitoring, as well as a wide range of management roles, would be possible.
