This exciting course will not only deepen your linguistic ability, but broaden your understanding of the country's literature, history, politics and culture. You will learn how to critically analyse works of literature and study the lives of people, both past and present, in the countries where your chosen language is spoken.
Special Features
You will have the opportunity to visit a country where your chosen language is spoken. We arrange overseas residential visits, for example, to Berlin. You will have open access to a wide range of ICT resources to practise your listening, grammatical and research skills, as well as unlimited access to a well-stocked language library.
Entry
You will need at least 5 A* - C GCSEs, one of which must be the language you wish to study further.
Attendance
One year to AS plus one further year to complete the full A level.
Assessment
This is through a combination of coursework and examinations.
Moving on
If you wish to continue your language study in Higher or Further Education then an AS or A level is essential to give you the solid grounding you will need. This course will give you the opportunity to travel abroad, helping to broaden your horizons and gain valuable communication skills desirable to all employers.
