AS:
1. Live Theatre - response to live theatre seen in or out of school;
2. Study of one set play as actor, director and designer;
Practical performance by a group of an extract from a published play, as well as supporting written evidence.
A2:
1. Detailed study of two set plays;
2. Complete stage realisation of short play extract.
Devised drama by a group, including written evidence.
Entry
You will need 5 A*-C GCSEs.
Attendance
One year to AS plus one further year to complete the full A Level.
Assessment
This is through a combination of coursework, external moderation and examinations.
Moving on
With a qualification in Drama and Theatre Studies you could go on to Higher Education for work in the Performance industry, Teaching, Arts Administration, or any career demanding a high level of communication skills. This subject goes well with Performance Studies, Media Studies, and any subject from the Arts or Humanities. It also provides breadth within a Science or Logistic course structure.
