For students who enjoy in depth enquiry, discussion and philosophical debate, this fascinating course explores the nature and existence of God, ethical issues and gives students the opportunity to explore areas of their own interest through independent investigation. Through this course you will acquire skills through research, discussion, critical analysis, and learn how to assess the value of both traditional and contemporary viewpoints on current issues.
Special Features
You will assist in the creation and running of the year twelve RE day in the summer term, meeting and working with members of the local faith community.
Entry
You will need at least 5 A* - C at GCSE level. However we would ask that you have C or above in RE and/or Humanities and English
Attendance
One year to AS plus one further year to complete the full A Level.
Assessment
AS Level: Two examinations and one coursework element.
A Level: Two examinations.
Moving on
If you wish to study Theology or Classics at university then this course really gives you the edge. The knowledge and skills you will gain through this course will also work for you in a range of careers, particularly those which require you to work with members of other faiths and cultures (e.g. Police work, Social Services, Teaching etc).
